AS2 Task Three - Requirements

This blog will show you the requirements for our advert in order for it to be successful, this means that I will be showing what will be needed for the advert.

To begin with, in order to create an advert you will have to plan it out and get ideas in order to base it on one thing. With our advert we have decided to advertise the Samsung Galaxy S5, to know what you need to record you need to storyboard your advert. This is where you draw on what you would like to see in the advert per scene which is represented in the boxes provided. As well as this we will also have to consider where we are going to film our advert, who is going to participate and the equipment we are going to need in order to create this advert.
If this advert was to be successful we need to make sure that we have a strong team, this basically means that we have to be organised on the practical side of things as well as the planning stages of the advert. So it is vital that us as a team would have to be strong and be patient.

For this entire advert to work we are going to need equipment, this equipment will consist of a camera, microphone (wired and wireless), one tripod and one set of headphones to hear how the audio sounds.
This will cost around £395 excluding the light attachment that is included but including a £745 deposit fee, but this is only for a week hire. In this time frame that we will have to record as much as we can within a week.

After we have planned out what equipment we are going to need we would have to think about where we are going to film our advert, seeing as our advert involves some jogging we are going to film from my house and down one street in order to get to the park which is Valence park.  Seeing as the park is a public park we should be able to film in the park without any permission, but to be on the safe side and before we start recording we will let people know that we are going to record in a specific area of the park which leaves them a choice to stay where they are or to leave so that they are not in the shots. In order to get to our destination we are going to record the most of my journey of me jogging, the reason being for this is because it needs to be in the advert of me jogging to my destination, whilst in the process of actually planning this advert we will need to think about any dangers that could come and how we would have to overcome these dangers.

In order to make our advert work we are going to need one actor and one actress who we will pick and looks like they do a lot of fitness, we are also willing to pay them because they can see this as a temporary job for them until we have completed the advert. We will pay them something like £9 an hour seeing as it is only a small job. When it comes to costumes the actors will be wearing something that is to do with running, in other words they should be wearing running gear to fit the advert. When I say running gear they have to wearing running shoes, shorts for males and jogging tights for females and a sporty top, we want to spend as little on the costume and props so that we can out the majority of our money in to the camera kit to make it look as good as possible. But the main things is where are we going to get all of the costumes from? When buying the costumes we will have to buy them from sport shops such as sportsdirect.com.

When it comes to the time scale and budget, we are looking to spend about week recording for when we all can, if it comes to re doing a few clips then we will have to. The reason why we want to do this is so that our advert looks the part and we want to make it look so good that everyone will think that this is the best advert we have seen, we then want to spend the rest of our time making sure that the editing of the advert it at the best it can possibly so that we have a good advert. We would also have to consider putting a budget of £3500 to make this advert work, this will cover all costs.

  1. Needs to be a bit more specific in places, the actors - don't say you will pick at random! That isn't good planning! "Running Gear" is also a little vague. To get the Distinction (this work is Merit) you really must make sure you add as much detail as possible and illustrate it clearly. Don't forget to include "where" the items are going to come from!
