In this blog I will be talking about my finished advert and what the audience thought about it judging from our focus group.
So we was chosen to create an advert for the new Samsung Galaxy S5 and to outline the new features such as the newly designed camera, the new S-Health and the new finger recognition. The product is a new smartphone which has been designed and built by Samsung and aim to be the best. When it came to choosing the target audience we all came to the conclusion and chose the age 11 and over, this is because of what we found out from our market research. We wanted to sell the product by showing the key features of the phone.
During the process of this advert we had to carry out research, this was done by using two different approaches and these are using a focus group and using Survey Monkey. This meant that we used qualitative and quantitate research in order to get the best results we can and produce an advert that is like no others. When it came to asking questions to our focus group and on my survey, I made sure that I asked questions that can be answered as yes and no but some answers had to be explained so that I could get more information from the public.
When it came to the advert I managed to get a good response from the focus group, but they managed to pick up a few things they did not like. They liked the fact that the advert flowed very well and they managed to gain an understanding of the phone, as well as this they saw the humor where the actor tripped up because of the beautiful girl he saw. Unfortunately they did not like parts of the story line but they still said that the would prefer if the two actors had the same phone. Luckily I got the responses I wanted seeing as the majority of them were positive and how they noticed some special features that were included, when it came to asking them questions I would like to say i gave them suitable questions to answer which allowed me to have good answers based on my advert.
With my advert I think that it was successful, the reason for this is because I managed to add special effects within the advert such as the black and white to colour to show how technology has evolved over the years. If I were to change this advert I would have got someone with a good voice to do a voice over rather than using my deep voice which sounds dull. Overall I would agree with the feedback I have been given because I have noticed this when the questions were being answered.
When it came to recording the video, we had all of the equipment we needed and we had a good crew that came along with it. When it came to the editing we had a person who had one of the best programs to edit and luckily he knew what he was doing so he managed to add special effect to make the advert more interesting and things that the audience may not notice. The reason why he done this is because people who understand the advert will know what these have been placed in the advert. Overall the product was clearly shown and what the new features are for the phone, I think that the advert would successfully sell because our target audience said that they would buy the new phone. The way that the advert was designed and structured I think that it was a good idea.
Overall I was pleased with the way my advert came out with the editing and the responses I got which was mainly positive. Thankfully I managed to achieve what I was aiming for.
